Options For Styrene

Styrene sign material is an expanded thermoplastic made from polystyrene resin. It is bendable, especially in thinner films, and can be manipulated without tearing. The material can be rolled for storage and transportation and will lay flat when unrolled. It does not crease or curl at the edges. Factory-made styrene sheets come in different thicknesses, including:

Thinner styrene is ideal for posters and backed signs such as menu boards or promotional banners, while thicker sheets provide greater stability for unsupported signs.

Printing Specifications

Styrene comes in opaque white, and designs are printed directly onto the plastic. This allows for accurate color reproduction with high saturation. If a colored background is required, it can also be printed onto the styrene. Additional printing specifications include:

Installing and Transporting Styrene Signs

Styrene signs can be used for both permanent and temporary installations. Depending on the application, hardware can be added for mounting, or they can be affixed using store-bought adhesives. Options for lightweight posters include:

When not in use, styrene signs can be rolled or folded without developing creases. They are lightweight, making them easy to transport.

Styrene posters can last over 10 years indoors and at least 3 years outdoors with proper care and storage. Unlike PVC, styrene does not yellow over time. It is waterproof, fade-resistant, and highly impact-resistant.
